Renthal Watercraft Handlebars
All handlebars are not created equal. Some watercraft owners assume that all handlebar brands are the same, their interest usually limited to the colour and shape. The following is written to inform you of some of the important points you need to know about Renthal watercraft handlebars.
Renthal watercraft handlebars are manufactured from exactly the same specification aluminium alloy that we use for our motocross and supercross motorcycle handlebars. The special qualities of this alloy include very high impact strength, light weight and vibration absorption.
The unique combination of these qualities reduces rider fatigue and increases safety. As with our motocross and supercross handlebars, Renthal watercraft bars have a bolted and bonded crossbrace that further increases strength. For additional safety, they are covered by a closed-cell foam pad. As proof of our product quality and design, Renthal have won 66 World and 39 US National motorcycle championships.
Every Renthal watercraft bar shape has been extensively tested by World and US champions to provide the optimum riding position on the boat. This allows for more comfort, better leverage and quicker turning.
All Renthal watercraft bars are anodised. Anodising is the best possible method of helping to protect aluminium alloy from corrosion, even in salt water.
Most handlebars are made from 7/8" tubing. The outside diameter often varies considerably. Renthals are different. They are made from an oversize tube which is machined down to 7/8" to ensure a perfect diameter on every bar. This prevents them from slipping in the clamps. Renthal bars are also knurled on both sides to help stop grip slippage.
